The word “escape” conjures up all kinds of images. We want to escape pain, suffering, disease, brokenness, noise, and a number of other things that rob us from experiencing the joy that comes through knowing Christ. The desire to escape stems from the realization that we are being held in bondage. So, we have something in common with the people of Israel, God’s people, because in the book of Exodus they find themselves on a journey from being in bondage to Egypt to being held in bondage to God. Escaping from Egypt becomes a powerful work of God, but it doesn’t happen over night. It becomes a journey; an experience. And this journey is full of deliverance and doubt, moving forward and wanting to go back, knowing that what you escaped from was bondage but restless because you don’t know what you are escaping into. Escaping is about gaining or regaining liberty. Come and join us in this journey called, Escape.
