MusicNotesdb Worship Ministry

1 Cor. 12:12 says that the body is a unit made up of many parts. Each part has a different function but serves the whole. In 1 Cor. 14:12 we are reminded that we should try to excel in gifts that build up the church. The worship ministry of the Sycamore View church of Christ exists to encourage those who would like to discover and use their musical gifts for the glory of God and the building up of the church.

Seasons of Worship, Volume 1 (Released January, 2006) was recorded at our praise team worship retreat in the fall of 2005 in order to help our church family learn new songs. We are still singing many of these in our worship gatherings on a regular basis.

I Will Rejoice  (Released April, 2007) was recorded by our Easter Chorus. The songs range from solemn songs of comfort, to upbeat Spirituals. My thanks to Ed Riddick for his direction on this project.

 Psalms_Project_CD Cover

The Psalms Project (Released April, 2008) is a collection of contemporary a cappella songs based on the book of Psalms. This recording features 11 tracks, most of which are word-for-word from the Psalms. The Psalms give us words to help express fear, disappointment and pain during the storms of life. And they help us express our new appreciation for His goodness when He lifts us out of darkness into his wonderful light.

Seasons of Worship, Volume 2  (Released November, 2008) was created to help our church family learn some fresh new songs for worship as a follow up to Seasons, Volume 1. We sing these songs all the time.

Hymns, Volume 1 Our first Hymns album (Released December, 2009) instantly became a favorite of our church family. Having Jerome Williams singing on Glory-land Way and Just a Little Talk with Jesus made it even more special. We’ve taken the old hymns and freshened them up just a bit in order to present them to a younger generation.

Praise Team

Our Praise Teams sing with our worship leader to provide vocal leadership in each of our worship gatherings. Each team usually consists of eight singers with microphones (2 sopranos, 2 altos, 2 tenors, 2 basses). This ministry provides a weekly opportunity for singers to use their gifts to help people see Jesus.

Special Events

Another way the music ministry helps people see Jesus is by singing for funerals. This is an especially meaningful part of our ministry as we offer support and comfort in a very difficult time.

Opportunities To Serve

It is a true joy to gather to worship the Lord as a body of believers. Every Sunday we provide opportunities for you to serve by taking a leadership role in the assembly (Both behind the scenes and on the podium). Please take some time to look at some of the areas we currently have available to serve and other opportunities we’d love to find leadership for. If you are interested, please check the boxes that apply and you will be contacted regarding your selections. Thank you for your interest in helping our worship assemblies bring glory to God and meaning to those who come to worship Him.
