Children’s Clothing Sale

Don’t miss out on the Children’s Clothing Sale! There will be a variety of gently used, good quality clothing, books, toys, and more. Make sure to stop by TODAY, August 23, from 8-6pm and Saturday, August 24, from 8-1pm for the half-priced sale. It’s also the 20th anniversary, so come congratulate the team!

Ice Cream Social

Our annual Ice Cream social is this Sunday, August 25, from 5-6:30pm! This is one of our favorite events of the year and is a great time to connect with the church family. We’ll have BBQ sandwiches and chips from Central BBQ (free to all, though donations will be accepted!), and of course, homemade ice cream! Those bringing ice cream need to make sure it is homemade and they need to arrive 10-15 minutes early to set up. They should also bring a scoop for serving. See you there!

3:16 Offering Month

We are kicking off our 3:16 Offering season in September! You may wonder: Why are we moving the 3:16 Offering from October to September? Glad you asked! We begin our annual church budgeting process in October. The 3:16 Offering is a very important piece of our budgeting process. Knowing how much our offering collects before we begin this process as opposed to after we’ve been working on the budget for a few weeks, gives us a more accurate picture of where our fiscal year is likely to end up. So moving up the offering a month empowers us to be better stewards of the resources God is providing. Our goal this year is $106,410. Beginning next Sunday, September 1, we will hear from the mission efforts we are connected to in Panama, Zambia, Ukraine, and Greece. We are asking between now and September 29th for you to visit our website, join us in praying for our partners in these areas of the world, and prayerfully discern what generosity might look like for you and your family unit over the next few weeks. The giving link is open and the giving box in the worship center is designated for our special 3:16 Offering. Thank you for joining us in this season.

September Community Meal

Community meals are back for the fall! This meal will be on Wednesday, September 4, from 5:30-6:15pm. Weather permitting, we will meet in the alley for burgers, hot dogs, and more! Our backup plan is to meet in the gym. Let us know if you'll be at our monthly community meal by filling out this form so we can plan accordingly! We invite you to stick around for any of our spiritual growth opportunities from 6:30-7:30.

Did you know we offer counseling referrals and payment assistance?

As an outgrowth of taking mental and physical health seriously, we have expanded our counseling partnerships over the last month. Every counselor we refer is one that SVC leadership has used, referred people to, or had conversations with about alignment with SVC’s mission, so we trust these folks. AND all these partners have a memorandum of understanding with us that Sycamore View will cover 50% of the first three sessions of counseling for SVC members. Even if you don’t utilize the financial assistance, we hopeful you’ll utilize these services. If you want more information or our referral list, please reach out to Jim Hinkle.

Buddy Bins for Isaiah 117 House

Isaiah 117 house is a temporary foster care home to lavishly love children who are immediately removed from their homes & awaiting placement in permanent foster homes! We are trying to change the way foster care begins by helping in those first crucial moments in the lives of shelby county children! SVC has committed to keeping these 3 BUDDY BINS full for a year! 

Please bring items church THIS Sunday, August 25! Items can be dropped off in the bin in Room 1. The bin will be clearly labeled.

2028 UPDATES

On Sunday, May 26, Jim and Josh shared an update with the church family about how Sycamore View is preparing for our 50th Anniversary in 2028.
