Catherine Laffoon, Room 3418, friend of Sherri Rogers, suffered a traumatic head injury due to a fall and underwent surgery on Wednesday, August 5th, at Regional One Health in Memphis; was transferred to hospital in Searcy, Arkansas on Tuesday, August 25th; she is now off the ventilator and is continuing to make improvements; requests prayers for comfort physically and emotionally as well as healing and a complete recovery.

Stoney and LeAn Ramsey in the birth of their grandson, John Ramsey Allen, on Thursday, September 10th. Ramsey weighed 6.9 lbs. and was 18 1/2 inches long. His proud parents are Jack and Madison Allen.
Carole Warbritton in the birth of her great grandson, Ross Collin Whitaker, on Sunday, August 30th, whose parents are Brandon and Savannah Whitaker; and the birth of her great grandson, Easton Brook Whitaker, on February 17th, whose parents are Nicholas and Abby Whitaker.

Faustin Henderson and Family, in the death of his stepfather, Bennie Shields, Jr., on Sunday, August 27th, due to cardiac arrest. The Memorial Service is scheduled for 12:00 noon on Saturday, September 12th, at R. S. Lewis & Sons Funeral Home, 3651 Austin Peay Highway, Memphis, TN 38128. Attendees are requested to wear Dallas Cowboys colors casual attire.
Family and friends of Wendy Rains, a teacher at West Memphis Christian School, who passed away unexpectedly on Monday, September 7th. She taught Amaryn Burdette in the 6th grade, and most recently has been working with Erys Burdette in the SKILLS program.
Chris and Rachel Galbreath and Virginia Simmons in the death of Chris’ brother and Virginia’s nephew, Phillip Galbreath, on Tuesday, August 18th, after an extended battle with pancreatic cancer. A memorial was held on Saturday, September 5th, at St. John the Divine Cathedral in New York City.
Jared and Shelby Lillard, son and daughter-in-law of Randy Lillard, in the unexpected death of Shelby’s father, Bill Whittington, on Friday morning, August 28th. A Celebration of Life was held on Wednesday, September 2nd, at North Heights Church of Christ, 200 Warrior Road, Batesville, AR 72501.

Martha Benafield, aunt of Veronica Veltman, experiencing stiffness, soreness, and lack of steadiness after slipping off of her bed several days ago; also experiencing some confusion which may be due to her dementia being slightly worse; Veronica will be staying with her full time for now and Martha’s son, Dale, will be with her at times when Veronica has errands to run; requests prayers that once her soreness has subsided, that she will feel much better.
Lisa Hinton, aunt of Carissa Burdette, was diagnosed with Stage 4 cancer of the duodenum late last week after becoming seriously ill; recovering from a 9-hour surgery yesterday, September 10th, where all of the cancerous masses were removed and the organs repaired as best they could be; will run pathology to determine next steps; requests prayers that there will be no subsequent infections and for complete healing.
Jack Johnson, father of Carissa Burdette, has been diagnosed with Stage 4 prostate cancer and has received the first of his radiation treatments which will continue daily for nine weeks; although outlook is good, he has been very fatigued from the medicine he has been receiving leading up to the treatment; requests prayers for strength and comfort during weeks of treatments and complete healing.
Jim Wingett, now at home from hospital as of Friday, September 4th, following a heart attack on Tuesday, September 1st; he received one stent and his chest continues to be sore, but thankful to be home; requests prayers for a complete recovery.
Leslie Whiteside, requests prayers to our Heavenly Father to bring her son plus two friends’ sons back into His everlasting arms for their sakes and their families; thankful for God’s continued support as she continues to strive to reach her goals of walking better; also prayers for healing for our city and country.
Joy Morton, mother of Elaine Morton, has returned home from the hospital, but has now been diagnosed with multiple myeloma as she continues to recover from sepsis; will be meeting with a medical team this week to determine treatment; requests prayers for complete healing.
Mary Beth Jones, doctor’s appointment last Thursday, September 3rd, revealed that she now has some retina reattachment which is definitely an improvement, but vision is still out of focus and perception is still off making her feel off balance at times; requests prayers for a complete recovery so that she will be able to see clearly soon.
Rick Kendall, neighbor of Doug and Donna Davenport, is now at home continuing to recover from a bone marrow transplant on Thursday, August 13th, which was successful; requests continued prayers for a complete healing.
Sherry Kendall, neighbor of Doug and Donna Davenport, is scheduled for a follow-up on September 24th regarding her thyroid surgery; also scheduled for lab work to make sure her meds are working properly; requests prayers for good results.
Van Jones, father of Jamie Sowell, now at home and continuing to recover following hospital stay for pneumonia; requests prayers for a complete recovery.
Bobby Nations, is now at home and continues to recover from a PFO closure procedure on Wednesday, August 26th, at Methodist University Hospital to prevent possible future strokes as the cardiologist considered the hole large because it was about 25% open; the procedure went well; requests prayers for complete healing.
Chad Perry, requests prayers as he is currently dealing with financial problems due to unemployment resulting in losing his apartment, his car breaking down with no means to have it repaired, and no money available for food; requests prayers for guidance as he realizes his “current ways” are not working and prayers that he is able to soon find employment.
Russ and Liana Nixon, as they and their families continue to deal with multiple issues and difficulties; requests prayers for guidance and strength.
