HOSPITALS:  


PRAISE THE LORD:  

Melanie Walicke was baptized into Christ on Sunday, November 23rd. Melanie is the daughter of Alicia Harm.


CONGRATULATIONS ARE EXTENDED TO:  

Morgan and Charli Gonder as they welcome baby girl, Murphy Nicole Gonder, to their family following her adoption being finalized on Tuesday, December 9th. Maggie, Watson, and Linden Gonder all welcome their new sister.  

Jackson and Brooke Ward in the birth of their baby girl, Hollis Elizabeth Ward, on Friday, December 5th. Hollis weighed 7 lbs. 14 oz. and was 19.5 inches long. Jackson is the son of Joe and Carla Ward.

Seth and Raelyn Tackett in the birth of their baby boy, Koen Tackett, on Thursday, November 20th, in Marietta, Ohio. Koen weighed 9.04 pounds and was 20.5 inches long.


SYMPATHY IS EXTENDED TO:  

Marilyn and Tony Crawford in the death of Marilyn’s brother, Don Medley, on Monday, December 1st. Prayers also for Don’s wife, Vicki Medley, and their children. Funeral services were Saturday, December 6th, at Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens, 3700 N. Germantown Parkway, Bartlett, TN 38133.

Randy, Kathy, and Raith Moss in the death of Randy’s father, Jack Moss, in Mesquite, TX, on Thursday, November 19th, at the age of 100. At the request of Mr. Moss, there will be no funeral service.

The Family of Jaxx Branson High acknowledged Sycamore View with deep appreciation for the kind expressions of sympathy following Jaxx’s death on September 29, 2025.

PRAYERS REQUESTED:  

Liana Nixon, now at home and doing okay, although sore, following an exploratory procedure yesterday, December 10th, due to abnormal results from a previous medical test; will receive reports in about 7-10 days on a couple of biopsies; requests prayers for continued healing, peace of mind, and a good outcome.

Jo Whitten, mother of Liana Nixon, now at home and doing well following surgery yesterday, December 10th, at Huntsville Hospital in Alabama for ICD (pacemaker and defibrillator) implant; prayers of thanksgiving for a successful surgery and requests prayers for continued healing, peace of mind, and a good outcome; her address is 4302 Richardson Dr., Huntsville, AL 35816, if anyone would like to send her a card.

Kip Long, prayers of thanksgiving as results of heart cath on Monday indicated no blockage.

Veronica Veltman, visit with orthopedic doctor yesterday, December 10th, let her know her fracture is healing nicely, but cannot drive for another 3 weeks; will also need to wear the boot when she goes out places, but at home can try wearing shoes; X-ray on her knee looks okay, but may have pulled her MSL, so will be in a knee brace for the next 6 weeks; requests continued prayers for complete healing and that she will be able to start driving again soon.

Leslie Whiteside, thankful for Sycamore View Church, her family, and her friends and for family members who are giving her encouragement; asking God to keep reducing the pain and increasing her balance as she continues to recover from her knee surgery; also requests continued prayers for her son, his family, and a couple of other friends’ sons that they will repent and return to serving and worshiping God.

Dwayne Dubree, had an endoscopy on Thursday, December 4th, as an outpatient; currently waiting on biopsy results; requests prayers for good results.

Jamie Sowell, requests prayers as she has another oncology appointment this week; also prayers for her son as he debates colleges to attend, and prayers for college and high school students as they take their finals.

Marsha Spears, sister of Dennis Spears, is now on palliative care at home; family is checking into possible nursing home or assisted living facilities to better help her needs; requests prayers for peace, dignity, and comfort.

Lane Benafield, grandson of Veronica Veltman’s aunt, is now going to St. Jude several days a week for several months for radiation and chemo; requests continued prayers for him and his family.

Martha Benafield, aunt of Veronica Veltman, currently not doing well; her dementia seems to be getting slightly worse and she is still losing weight; her blood disease treatments at West Clinic have her extremely tired all of the time with little to no energy causing her to take more naps and not eating enough; requests prayers for her and her family as they are all deeply concerned about her current condition.

Debbie Mitchell, now at home recovering from surgery for aortic heart valve replacement on Tuesday, December 2nd; surgery went well; most likely will need to have a pacemaker within the next two weeks; requests prayers for minimal pain and complete healing.

Bobby Bluford, recovering from procedure regarding a large hematoma in his leg where he had his previous hip replacement; has lost some mobility in his leg, but is rebounding quickly; met with ortho surgeon last week and was cleared to go back to work which began Monday; will start PT today for 6 weeks; next checkup will be sometime in January; requests prayers for strength and complete healing.

Adam Irwin, has been diagnosed with cancer of the liver and also has some spots on his lungs; the actual type of liver cancer is still being determined; currently feels fine physically and taking one day at a time; requests prayers for strength, peace, and a complete healing; prayers also for his parents, Dennis and Leslie Irwin, as they provide support and encouragement during this time.
